On 22 March 2024, a 52-year-old man went missing in the Seydikemer district of Muğla. After a 56-day search, his body was found following a confession his ex-wife made during the live broadcast of a television program. The trial that followed resulted in the ex-wife and the man she was involved with being sentenced to aggravated life imprisonment for "intentional killing"; one defendant was released, while another, an elderly defendant, was acquitted.
