Two murders for money in Isparta (1973–74)
A man in financial trouble from gambling debts killed the driver of a taxi he had hired to go from Isparta to Dinar on 15 November 1973, for his money. In 1974 he killed an acquaintance who had been saving money to buy a car, again for money. He was caught with the keys to the first victim's car. On 4 February 1975 the Isparta High Criminal Court sentenced him to 30 years of heavy imprisonment for one killing and death for the other; the Court of Cassation upheld the verdict. He was executed on 22 January 1983 after the 12 September coup.
