On 17 July 2023, in the village of Ahlat in Kastamonu, the body of 57-year-old Satı Doğruoğlu was found in a sack thrown into a stream. Following blood traces at the scene, gendarmerie teams detained three people. Following the trial, the court reduced the life sentence it had given the main defendant to 12 years and 6 months by applying a reduction for unjust provocation; it acquitted the other two defendants.
