The Hale Akbaş Poyraz case

In Antalya, 39-year-old Hale Akbaş Poyraz was shot and killed by her 57-year-old husband in an argument that arose out of jealousy. The indictment stated that the defendant had confessed to planting a listening device in his wife's bag. The defendant turned himself in at a police station roughly two hours after the killing. The Antalya 6th Heavy Penal Court convicted the defendant of 'intentionally killing a spouse' and sentenced him to aggravated life imprisonment.
