DUBLIN — 1993 · Missing Person
The Disappearance of Annie McCarrick
Annie McCarrick, a 26-year-old New Yorker, vanished from Sandymount in Dublin on 26 March 1993, about three months after moving to Ireland permanently. That day she planned to visit the Wicklow Mountains. Her last confirmed sighting was on the CCTV of a Sandymount bank branch; she was then reportedly seen on a bus heading towards Enniskerry and, that evening, at Johnnie Fox's pub in Glencullen. No trace was found. The file was reopened in 2008 and formally upgraded to a murder investigation in March 2023. In June 2025 new information led to the first arrest in the case, but no one has been charged and Annie's fate remains unknown.
