The Disappearance of JNU Student Najeeb Ahmed
Najeeb Ahmed, a 27-year-old master's student in biotechnology at Jawaharlal Nehru University, was never seen again after leaving the Mahi-Mandavi hostel on 15 October 2016. He had reportedly been involved in a scuffle with a group of students at the hostel the night before. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), which took over from Delhi Police, offered a reward but found no trace and prepared a closure report in 2018. Despite his mother's objections, a Delhi court accepted the report on 30 June 2025, noting the case could be reopened if new evidence emerged. His fate remains unknown.
