Between 1994 and 1996, three people were killed in Tallinn, the capital of Estonia; for a long time the cases were treated as unrelated files. In March 1998 a suspect was apprehended, and the ensuing investigation established that all three incidents were linked to the same person. The defendant was found guilty of all three murders and sentenced to 15 years in prison; he was released in 2013 after serving his full sentence.
