Melbourne, Australia (urban legend)

Federici, the Ghost of the Princess Theatre

Folklore — not a documented case

A singer who died on stage in 1888 while playing Mephistopheles in Faust is said to have taken a bow that night, and to walk the theatre still.

Melbourne's Princess Theatre, opened in 1854 and housed in its present grand building since 1886, is one of Australia's oldest and most famous theatres. Its fame comes not only from its productions but also from Australia's best-known theatre ghost.
