Boulia, Queensland, Australia (alleged phenomenon)

The Min Min Lights

Folklore — not a documented case

In the Australian outback, mysterious balls of light are said to accompany night travellers, moving away whenever anyone tries to approach them.

The Channel Country in western Queensland, with its flat plains and dry climate, is one of the remotest parts of Australia. The small town of Boulia has become famous as the centre of the mysterious phenomenon known as the 'Min Min lights'. Stories of the lights were known among Aboriginal peoples in the region before European settlers arrived.
