Davuilevu School Principal Murder
On 10 December 1970 the principal of Lelean Memorial School at Davuilevu near Nausori, an Australian missionary teacher identified here as P.A.F. (41), was found dead in her quarters on the school compound. She had previously headed Dudley High School in Suva and had been stabbed. Police interviewed some 500 students and all staff; it emerged that money had been taken from the school safe that night and that a taxi had been seen in the compound, but no one was ever arrested or charged. It is regarded as one of Fiji's oldest known unsolved murders.
