Gobi Desert, Mongolia (cryptozoological legend)

Folklore — not a documented case
Beneath the sands of the Gobi Desert, a red worm-like creature is said to spit poison or deliver electric shocks. Despite many expeditions, it has never been found.
The Gobi Desert, stretching from southern Mongolia into northern China, is one of the largest deserts in Asia.
