The Marfa Lights

East of the town of Marfa in West Texas, unexplained lights are said to appear on the horizon at night, dancing, merging and splitting apart.

On the wide desert plains of West Texas, about fifteen kilometres east of the town of Marfa, people who watch the horizon at night say they see strange lights. According to the tales, the lights are white, yellow, orange or red; they hover in the air, drift towards each other and merge, then split, suddenly go out and reappear somewhere else.
