A large, hairy humanlike creature is claimed to live in the forests of northern California; its most famous image is a short film shot at Bluff Creek in 1967.

The old-growth forests along North America's west coast are full of stories about a creature called Bigfoot or Sasquatch. According to the tales, it is an upright-walking being more than two metres tall, covered in dark hair, somewhere between human and ape, and it leaves enormous footprints behind.
