In late 2020, a missing-person report was filed after a woman's family had been unable to reach her for a long time. Forty-two days later, the suspect confessed while giving a statement and pointed to where the body had been left; it was found in a wooded area along the coastal road in the Terme district of Samsun. The trial that followed resulted in the defendant being sentenced to prison.
