TWEED — 2010 · Murder
The Colonel Russell Williams Case
Colonel Russell Williams, commander of CFB Trenton, Canada's largest military air base, and a decorated pilot who had flown heads of state on VIP aircraft, confessed during an Ontario Provincial Police interrogation in February 2010 to killing two women. The victims were Corporal Marie-France Comeau, 37, found dead at her home in November 2009, and Jessica Lloyd, who vanished near Belleville in January 2010. Tyre tracks and boot prints near Lloyd's home were the evidence that caught him. The investigation also uncovered 82 break-ins and sexual assaults dating from 2007. Sentenced in October 2010 to life imprisonment for two first-degree murders, he was stripped of his rank and decorations.
