The Murder of Diana Quer
Diana Quer, 18, disappeared at around 2:40 a.m. on 22 August 2016 while walking home alone from a local festival in A Pobra do Caramiñal, Galicia. Shortly before, she had messaged a friend that she feared she was being followed. The case remained unsolved for more than a year. In December 2017 the perpetrator, questioned over an attempted attack on another woman, confessed and led police to an abandoned warehouse in Rianxo where her body was found. In December 2019 a court sentenced him to reviewable permanent imprisonment, Spain's maximum penalty. The Spanish Supreme Court upheld the sentence on 26 November 2020.
