NANTES — 2011 · Murder
The Nantes Family Murders
In April 2011, relatives worried about a Nantes house whose shutters had long been closed alerted police. On 21 April the bodies of a mother and her four children were found buried in the garden; the family's two dogs had also been killed. The deaths were dated to early April. The father had vanished; he was last seen on 15 April 2011 at a hotel in southern France. An international arrest warrant was issued and hundreds of reported sightings in several countries were checked over the years, none confirmed. It remains one of France's most famous open investigations.
