The "Uzi Terminator" killings
A serial murder case concerning five people killed in İzmir and Bursa in the late 1990s. According to reports, the killings were linked to debt collection and disputes in organised-crime circles; the press called the perpetrator the "Uzi Terminator" after the weapon he used. He was caught in 1999 and, at the end of a trial concluded in 2002, sentenced to 24 years in prison. The case frequently appears in reports compiling serial murders in the Aegean region.
