Folklore — not a documented case
In Amazon folklore, the pink river dolphin becomes an elegant man in a white hat on festival nights and returns to the river before dawn.
The pink river dolphin, found in the Amazon and its tributaries, is the hero of one of the region's liveliest legends. According to stories told in riverside communities across northern Brazil, this dolphin, called the boto, can leave the water at night and take human form.
