On 18-19 April 2020 a denturist driving a replica Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) cruiser and wearing a police uniform carried out attacks across Nova Scotia for about 13 hours, starting in the village of Portapique. Twenty-two people were killed, including an RCMP officer, and homes were set on fire. The gunman was shot dead by police at a petrol station in Enfield on 19 April.
