Hoia Baciu Forest

Folklore — not a documented case

Known as "Transylvania's Bermuda Triangle," this forest is famed for claims of unexplained lights, disappearances, and UFO sightings. At the center of the tale is a clearing in the forest where, it is said, no plant will grow. It is an entirely unverified tale, resting on popular culture and legend alone.

This forest near the city of Cluj-Napoca in Romania began drawing international attention from the 1960s onward. According to the tale, the forest takes its name from a shepherd who vanished within it.
