Bran, Romania (urban legend)

Bran Castle and the Dracula Legend

Folklore — not a documented case

Transylvania's Bran Castle is world-famous as Dracula's castle, yet it has no strong link to either Vlad the Impaler or the novel's author.

Rising on a rock near the city of Brașov in the Carpathians, Bran Castle is known around the world as Dracula's castle. According to the tales, shadows move through its corridors at night, the sound of wings drifts from the tower, and Transylvania's old belief in strigoi, the dead who rise from their graves, lives on within these walls.
