Under InvestigationSources: CLast updated: 14 October 2026

On 13 January 1977, the bodies of 27-year-old Suzanne Armstrong and 28-year-old Susan Bartlett were found in a house in Melbourne. Armstrong's 16-month-old son was found unharmed in his crib. The case became known as Victoria's longest-running and most serious unsolved murder file. In 2024, advances in DNA forensic techniques led to the arrest in Rome of a 65-year-old suspect, who until then had benefited from a statute-of-limitations protection in Greece. Judicial proceedings are ongoing.
